Sometimes a small gesture can have a profound impact. While traveling to Montreal, I came across a gesture that is a great way to make a difference in the local community.

I was having dinner at Le Warehouse on Crescent St and noticed a statement at the bottom of the menu that allows everyone to make a difference in the life of those who are less fortunate. It was not a grand idea, but it could make a large impression.

“Buy a meal for those less fortunate $4.95.”

What a simple way to initiate generosity. At times we struggle with not knowing how to give back. This takes all the hassle out of it and makes it almost effortless. Have that extra dessert you know you wont finish, or buy a meal for someone who will appreciate it.

Just think, if every business operator – large or small – would activate something similar, this small gesture could turn into a large collective and immediate contribution to the underprivileged. It would not be hard to administer. No one should go hungry in the richest country in the world.

I hope you will look at implementing this and pass it on to others in your network. Let’s do some good together.
